When Maui Land & Pineapple Company announced it's pineapple production operation would shut down after 100 years of business, ML&Pine employees were left questioning not only the fate of their jobs, but future of pineapple ('hala kahiki') on Maui. The documentary short 'Hala Kahiki' focuses on Maui's withstanding relationship with pineapple and how a group of dedicated farmers fought to keep Maui's pineapple legacy alive.
